Choosing the Right Golf Impact Screen

Golf impact screens come in different types depending on how often they’re used.

  • Commercial facilities: Because they get heavy use, a double screen system is recommended. The back screen stays protected, and you only replace the front when needed.

  • Home or office setups: A single screen system is usually enough for light to moderate use.

Step 1: Pick Your Screen Material
When choosing material, consider:

  • Image quality

  • Your environment (lighting, space, etc.)

  • Frequency of use

  • Lifespan/durability

(For more details, see our Golf Impact Screen Material page.)

Step 2: Choose the Edge Finish
Edge finish is important for attaching your screen to the frame. Options include:

  • Grommets

  • Fastener strips

  • Flaps to cover gaps

  • Sleeves for wire at the bottom

  • Or a combination of these

Since most customers already have a setup, we customize screens to fit. Just send us photos of your current screen edges (top, sides, bottom), and we’ll make it match your needs.

Double Impact Screen System

Front + Rear Impact screen setup

Commercial golf impact screens experience substantially more stress and abuse than those designed for home use. To make more durable, typical commercial screen system consists of a front (facing) screen and a back (supporting) screen.

Advantages:

  • Lasts Longer – Back screen stays protected for extended durability

  • Cost Effective – Only replace the front screen when needed

  • Easy Replacement – Quick and simple to swap out the front screen

Front Impact Screen

Front impact screen is the screen where beam projector plays image.  Front impact screen receives the most impact and durability of the screen material is crucial.

The lifespan of the screen depends on the material of the screen and how much gaming is played on it. Typically, a standard front screen can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, while our screens made of thicker fabric, last longer.

Front Impact Screen – Standard setup

  • Fastener tape (Velcro) applied to the back side of the screen, hidden away from players.
  • 4 inch wide fastener (either hook or loop according to customer’s selection) is sewn with 6 multiple chainstitch line to ensure maximum stability
  • basic setup (shown as the top illustration) is 3 side fastener tapes and bottom 1 inch hem.
  • extra fastener can be applied, following the customer’s choice.  (to use it longer, some customers choose to turn the screen 180 degree and ask for all sides to be applied.)

Back Impact Screen

The rear screen is fixed to the screen frame or poles using wires or bungees that pass through the grommets. While there may be other methods to install the rear screen, the illustrated shape is the most typical. Matching Velcro (paired with the front) is applied to three sides (top, right, and left), and 1-foot spaced grommets are applied along three sides

The typical lifespan of the rear screen is usually 1 to 2 years. You may choose different materials for the front and back. It is recommended to use a darker material for the back to enhance the image quality.

Rear Impact Screen – Standard setup

  • Fastener tape (Velcro) applied to the front side of the screen, facing players.
  • 4 inch wide fastener (either hook or loop according to customer’s selection) is sewn with 6 multiple chainstitch line to ensure maximum stability.
  • basic setup (shown as illustration) is 3 side fastener tapes  with 1 ft spacing grommets and bottom 1 inch hem.
  • bottom fastener is not recommended because it will make the whole screen system very rigid and unable to absorb the impact energy.

SINGLE IMPACT SCREEN system

For Home, Office, Personal Use

Most common golf simulator screens are single impact screen type, suitable for home or office use.  Since private use screens don’t take as much beating as the commercial ones, the single impact screen may last long time.  Select the single impact screen option in the screen use section.  Ball bungees are included in the package for this option.

Single impact screen

A typical single impact screen is fixed to the screen frame or poles of the enclosure using bungees that pass through the grommets. We use strong weaving tapes sewn around the edges to reinforce the structural integrity. 12″ spacing grommets are applied around the reinforced edges (top, right, and left)

Single Golf Impact Screen – Basic Setup

  • 2″ Weaving tape sewn around three edges (top, right, left)
  • 12″ spacing grommet application
  • 1″ hemming at the bottom
